Campbell believes Solskjaer has brought back Manchester United’s DNA and has steadied the ship at Old Trafford.
It has been two-and-a-half years since Solskjaer was drafted in to replace Jose Mourinho after United’s poor start to the 2018/2019 season.
The Red Devils are yet to win a trophy under the Norwegian tactician but progress has been made as United have always been close in every competition.
The feel good factor is back at Old Trafford and Solskjaer was rewarded with a new contract over the weekend.
The Manchester-based side are currently busy in the transfer market looking to bolster their squad ahead of the 2021/2022 season.
Jadon Sancho has been bought from Borussia Dortmund and Raphael Varane is on the verge of joining the English club from Real Madrid.
In an interview with the media, Campbell has lauded the former Molde FK and Cardiff coach, inssiting the board are happy with him.
“He’s come in and steadied the ship and that’s what it’s all about,” Campbell told talkSPORT.
“That’s what United needed at the time. They needed someone who could go back into that club and steady it, bring back the joy and play the football they want to see – the DNA and spirit of the club.
“A lot of people I know at the club are happy with Ole – they’re totally happy with him.”
