Ronaldinho, who is in Taormina to receive the Nations Award says he has been monitoring his former club AC Milan but has also been carving for a promotion for Monza, a team owned by previous president of AC Milan Silvio Berlusconi who brought him to Milan.
“I’ve received a warm welcome and I am happy,” the Brazilian legend told Tuttomercatoweb.
“I am still following Milan, they are doing well, they are a top club and I hope they will continue like this.”
“I bring Berlusconi and (Adriano) Galliani in my heart, I am waiting for Monza in Serie A,” the Brazilian said.
Ronaldinho in his playing days played with Lionel Messi at Barcelona and with the Argentine's contract with the Catalan club expired on 30 June, Ronaldinho has advised his former teammate to remain at the club.
“Leo must stay because he is the history of the club,” he said.
In a two and a half year at Milan, Ronaldinho scored 26 goals in 95 appearances.
Ronaldinho, an epitome of high level football dribbling has most of his invented skills imitated by several footballers.
The 2002 World Cup winner won for himself two FIFA World Player of the Year awards and a Ballon d'Or.
After a glittering career with French giants Paris Saint-Germain, Ronaldinho joined Barcelona in 2013 under newly elected club president Joan Laporta for a reported fee of €30 million.
A 94 goals in 207 games for Barcelona saw Ronaldinho winning two LaLiga titles, two Copa del Reys, and a Champions League medal.
