Arsenal Agree Deal To Sign Ben White From Brighton

Arsenal Agree Deal To Sign Ben White From Brighton

Arsenal have reportedly agree a £50 million deal to sign Ben White from Brighton and Hove Albion.

The English centre-back has been angling for a move away from the Amex Stadium for sometime now.

And after Arsenal seeing their two previous offers of £40m and £47m being knocked back by Brighton have now reached an agreement to sign the 23-year-old.

It is believed that Ben-White will undergo his medical for the Emirates club when he returns from his holidays on July 26 and would sign a five-year deal with the North Londoners following an agreement of personal terms.

The deal will make White one of the most expensive English defenders, matching the same amount Manchester United coughed out to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace in 2019.

Arsenal are looking to bring in more additions after completing the signing of Nuno Tavarez from Benfica.

Mikel Arteta plans to strengthen a side deficient of Champions League football for years to book a spot and compete for the league title as well.

Ben White's impressive display for Brighton last season caught the eyes of England manager Gary Southgate who added him to the Three Lions squad for Euro 2020 as a replacement for injured Trent Alexander-Arnold.

After helping Brighton to escape relegation, Ben White's five-year stint including loan spells with Graham Potter's side nears an end following Arsenal's consistent interest in bringing him to North-London.

Having earned the eight position in the league log and with David Luiz's departure, the Gunners are eager to bolster their defensive department for the new season.

Ben White who made his England debut against Austria last month, coming off the bench, featured 36 times for Brighton in the Premier League last term.

Arsenal will open their Premier League campaign for the 2021-22 season with a trip to newcomers Brentford on August 13.
