Solskjaer Admits Liverpool Deserved To Win

Liverpool put up a stellar performance at Old Trafford to beat Manchester United 4-2 in the Premier League on Thursday and head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted his men did not deserve to get any point from the game.

An entertaining night in Manchester ended in favour of Jurgen Klopp’s men, who are desperately in need of points to secure a top four finish.

The hosts had a perfect start to the game when Bruno Fernandes gave them the lead inside the opening ten minutes, but Liverpool struck twice on 34 minutes and late in the first half injury time thanks to Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino to take the lead at halftime.

Firmino started where he finished off before the interval to score his second on the night two minutes after the break.

Marcus Rashford brought United back to the game by cutting the deficit on 68 minutes but Mohamed Salah scored in the dying embers to hand Liverpool a precious victory on enemy territory.

"They deserved the win. We conceded goals in key moments of the game. We didn't build on the momemtum or break up their momemtum. We gave them at least two goals. Key moments went against us, Solskjaer told the media after the game.

"We didn't build on the good times. We should have gone more for it at the start of the game. Sometimes we let them off the hook and let them play out."

“When you play against good players and good teams you can’t give easy goals away, especially goals in the periods we did.

“We want to win every game we play. We were ready to fight for each other and we did but we made too many uncharacteristic errors."
