Tuchel Expects A Tough Match Against West Ham United

Chelsea will be facing West Ham United in the Premier League at the London Stadium on Saturday and head coach Thomas Tuchel has insisted he expects a tough match against the Hammers.

The battle to secure top four in the Premier League might have another twist when the two London rivals meet.

Chelsea will be looking to secure their first win away at West Ham since their title winning campaign under Antonio Conte in the 2016/2017 season.

The Blues sit fourth level on points with West Ham, who are fifth, but have a superior goal difference.

Speaking to the media ahead of the game, Tuchel admitted it will be a tough task facing an in-form David Moyes side.

"We expect a tough match," said the former Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain head coach.

"West Ham is very strong and they rely strongly on solidarity in defence, which is the basis for a very strong counter attack, which they have.

"The challenge is clear and to control the match we want to reduce critical ball losses to a minimum. That is the plan but it is a big challenge.

Tuchel’s counterpart Moyes also lauded the German for the impact he has had on Chelsea since arrival in January.

Moyes said: "Thomas Tuchel has done unbelievably well. I thought Frank Lampard had brought together a good squad of players and he was on the verge, so he was a little bit unlucky, but Thomas Tuchel has come in and shown experience.

"He's managed Dortmund and he's managed PSG, and he's shown those qualities with Chelsea. They’ve got arguably the strongest squad in the Premier League, so it’s no surprise they’re doing well, but he is doing an excellent job.

"We’re in the mix for some form of European football right to the end, and we’re going to try to make sure we’re close to the big one.

"Undoubtedly I can see us going to the last game of the season with something to play for."
