‘An Important Win In A Crucial Moment' - Claims Arteta After Prague Win

Arsenal secured a 4-0 victory at Slavia Prague in the second leg of the Europa League quarter-final to secure a place in the last four of the competition and head coach Mikel Arteta said the win against the Czech Republicans is crucial in their season.

Arteta says he is happy about his side’s reaction against Prague at the Sinobo Stadium after the first leg which ended 1-1 in London.

A blistering first-half display saw Arsenal hit three goals past the hosts courtesy of Nicolas Pepe, Alexandre Lacazette, and Bukayo Saka.

Lacazette got his second goal during the dying embers of the game to help the Gunners book a date with Villarreal in the semi-final.

Speaking to the media after the game, Arteta said his men deserved to beat Slavia Prague.

“We started really well in a convincing way, aggressive in our high press,” said the Spanish coach.

“We looked a threat all the time. I really like the reaction of the team to the goal being disallowed. We scored some great goals, the clean sheet is important as well, the second one in two games.

"It helped the way we played against Sheffield United. The players were in high confidence, when performances are so high the collective improves. The boys were really at it from the start.

"It is a really important win in a crucial moment. We won in a convincing way, so credit to the players.

"There is still a lot to do and things we can improve on, but we have a real desire to improve and be better every day. It will be really tough and Unai Emery is probably the most successful manager in this competition."
