Klopp Says Liverpool Will Try to Mount A Comeback Against Real Madrid

Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp has admitted it will be a tough game against Real Madrid in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, but insists the Premier League side will try to mount a comeback against the Spaniards.

The Reds go into the game at Anfield as the underdogs, having already lost 3-1 in the first leg at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano last week.

Klopp’s men were second best in every department as Toni Kroos and Vinicius Junior’s brace made sure Mohamed Salah’s second half strike was a mere consolation.

Liverpool will have to depend on another miraculous night at Anfield if they want to stand the chance of making it to the last four of Europe’s premier club competition.

“When you are 3-1 down it looks like you are already out and you have not a lot to lose, but we will give it a try and go for it,” Klopp said in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Merseyside team’s crunch encounter against Los Blancos.

“That’s the job we have to do. They were better than us in the first leg and we were not as good as we could have been but it’s the first half.

“The result is a problem and the quality of the opponent. There’s just one extra problem – no supporters in the stadium. We have to create our own atmosphere.”
