'I Have Fighters In My Team' - Arteta Confident Arsenal Can Turn Season Around

Arsenal were beaten 4-1 by Manchester City in the Carabao Cup quarter-final but head coach Mikel Arteta remains confident as he thinks his side have fighters who can help turn things around at the Emirates Stadium.

Arteta was impressed with his men’s fighting spirit despite being disappointed with the result.

Alexandre Lacazette scored on the 32nd minute mark to cancel Gabriel Jesus 3rd minute opener but the visitors came out from the halftime break to hit three past the Gunners through Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden and defender Aymeric Laporte.

Speaking to the media after the game, Arteta had his take on the game and insists his side have what it takes to turn things around.

“Against this level of opponent they penalise you and make it very difficult,” he said.

"We have a great counter-attack moment but they then score in an offside position and you end up losing the game again.

"It’s a hard one to take considering how the game went. This level of opponent, when you give the goals away it makes the game impossible. A lot of strange things are happening in every game and that makes things really difficult.

"We have to turn it around round - there is no question with the fixtures we have it’s going to decide our season.

"On the basis of what we have shown against difficult opponents, I have fighters in my team. Yes, I have fighters."

Arsenal face a stern competition when they come up against Chelsea in the Premier League on Boxing Day.
