Mourinho Didn’t Like Tottenham’s ‘Attitude’ In Defeat To Leicester

Tottenham Hotspur were beaten 2-0 by Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday and manager Jose Mourinho has questioned some of his players’ attitude during the game.

Mourinho believes his side did not start well against the Foxes but was reticent to single out individuals for blame.

The Foxes took the lead on the cusp of halftime via Jamie Vardy from the penalty spot and James Maddison thought he had doubled the visitors’ advantage three minutes after the break but VAR ruled the goal out for an offside in the buildup.

Toby Alderweireld gave Brendan Rodgers’ men another helping hand on 59 minutes, turning Vardy's header into his own net, after the Englishman out-jumped Moussa Sissoko.

“We didn't start well - I could go into individuals but I won't, we didn't start well,” Mourinho told Sky Sports after the game.

“In our best period of the game, we were totally in control and had a couple of good chances to score, and expecting to go in at 0-0 and we go 1-0 down.”

“In the second half we scored an own goal when we had possession, that was difficult, the reaction was positive and Schmeichel made a couple of good saves which would have given us life for the last few moments of the game.”

“It's a game we lost with a penalty and own goal but the result looks like the opponent was in control, which is not true. It wasn't a game they deserved to win or a game we deserved to lose. It was not a good game, it was a poor game."
