Conte Tells Inter Milan To Improve Ahead Of Monchengladbach Clash

Inter Milan are without a win in this season’s Champions League campaign and head coach Antonio Conte has urged his men to improve ahead of a crucial game against Borussia Monchengladbach on Tuesday.

The Nerazzurri have drawn two and lost two in their opening four games, leaving them last in Group B.

Conte’s men must beat Monchengladbach at the
Borussia-Park in order to keep their hopes of qualifying to the next stage of the competition alive.

Inter Milan were heavily criticized by the Italian media after a 2-0 defeat at home against Real Madrid last week but Conte has jumped to his team’s defense but insists the Milanese club must improve against a very ‘difficult’ side.

"There were a lot of negative judgements after the match against Real Madrid, I heard people saying Real did what they wanted. They forget that we were reduced to ten men after 30 minutes and they had a penalty after four minutes. I challenge anyone to play on a pair against Real in this situation,” Conte said at a press conference.

“We created those situations and they penalized us, we must improve so that we do not create these negative situations that make everything more difficult.

“We play on Tuesday in a game against a difficult team that is doing well in the Champions League. We must do our best to get out of the pitch without regrets.

"We started the Champions League as referees of our destiny, if today we are not, it means that we made some mistakes in some situations. Having said that, the only way to try to stay alive is to win tomorrow against Borussia.

“We know that it won’t be easy, but it will be an opportunity for us to follow a path started in Europe, where there are often knock-out games. There is an opportunity to test this type of situation once again.”
