Manchester United won 2-1 against PSG in their own backyard and Rashford once again proved to be the late match-winner as he rose to the occasion.
Manchester United took the lead in 21 minutes thanks to Bruno Fernandes from the penalty spot but were pegged back when striker Anthony Martial headed into his own net ten minutes after the break.
The game was heading for a stalemate before Rashford fired Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men to a crucial win at the Parc des Princes.
Despite the Red Devils enduring a lukewarm start to the 2020/2021 campaign, Rashford is adamant he still believes in his team-mates’ potential and was quick to laud Solskjaer’s tactics against the Parisians.
“I think the manager got it spot on today," Rashford told the club's official website. “The system allowed us to express ourselves going forward and to be tight defensively, which I think we did as well as we could. Of course, it’s a big win and a perfect position to be in because we have got a lot to improve on as well.
"It’s a good performance and a performance we have a lot to build on. I always believe in the team, as players it’s important to believe in the system the manager wants us to play. Today we did that fantastically.“
Next up for United and Rashford is a Premier League game against old foes Chelsea at Old Trafford on Saturday.
