Jimenez Wants To Achieve ‘Big Things’ With Wolves

Mexico striker Raul Jimenez has insisted he wants to win trophies with Wolverhampton Wanderers after a 1-0 win against Olympiacos in the Europa League round of 16 on Thursday night.

The Premier League side took an early lead on the 8th minute mark through Jimenez and it was enough to see off  a stubborn Olympiacos side at the Molineux stadium.

Jimenez has insisted his team-mates are determined to bring success to West Midlands.

"It's a long long season, we started last year but we are here and we want to achieve big things. We know we can do it, we head to Germany. It's big,” the 29-year-old told the media after Wolves’ win against the Greeks.

“After our first year in the Premier League we learned a lot, we achieved Europa League [qualification] and now this year we made more points in the Premier League and are in the quarter finals. We want to keep going like this."

Wolves have now booked a date with La Liga side Sevilla in the Europa League quarter-final and the Mexican has admitted that facing Los Palanganas is a tough task but they are ready to compete.

The former Benfica man said: “We know it will be tough, it will be difficult, it is a team that is a family like we are this season. They are a very good team but we have very good players to play them."

Jimenez was quick to hail his manager Nuno Espírito Santo, who has been the brain behind Wolves’ good form since coming back to the Premier League.

“He is a very important part of the team. He is a leader and at the end he said congratulations to me,” he added.

“That confidence he and the team gives to me I try to give it back to them on the pitch."
