Adebayor worked under Mourinho at Santiago Bernabeu during the former Togo international’s loan spell at Real Madrid in the 2010-2011 season, where he won the Copa del Rey.
The 36-year-old believes Mourinho, who is considered as one of the best coaches in the game, merits the title of the best manager in the history of football.
The Portuguese coach has won major honors in Portugal, England, Italy, and Spain.
One of his standout achievements was when he led FC Porto to Champions League glory in the 2003/04 season and Serie A side Inter Milan to a historic treble in 2009/10.
Despite his stupendous records in football, Mourinho is not widely known for playing attacking football.
Adebayor revealed his relationship with Mourinho and insists he wants the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager to succeed at North London.
“I love Mourinho,” the Togolese told AS.
“We had a great relationship and he was the one who brought me to Madrid, although it wasn’t easy for him to find a place for me in the side.
“The only trophy I have ever won was at Madrid with him. Now he’s at Tottenham and I wish him the best of luck.
“He is the best coach in the history of football.”
