De Bruyne has already registered three assists in this embryonic stage of the Premier League season as the champions trail perceived nearest challengers Liverpool by two points following Saturday’s 2-2 draw at home to Tottenham Hotspurs.
After the impressive highs of the 2017/2018 season where De Bruyne played a pivotal role in Manchester City’s record-breaking title triumph and was narrowly beaten to the PFA Player of the year by Mohamed Salah, the Belgian had a checkered 2018/2019 campaign as a result of a number of fitness issues.
De Bruyne made just 11 Premier League starts last term in a campaign hampered by knee and hamstring problems but has begun this season in fine form.
"I feel good and I'm becoming better," he told City's official website.
"It's still the beginning of the season, so sometimes it's heavy [going], but I feel fine, so everything will be OK this season."
Reflecting on City’s draw with Tottenham on Saturday, De Bruyne felt the champions did enough to win the game but will do well to emerge victorious against Bournemouth in their next outing.
"We played well and I think we deserved to win," he said. "The team played really well and played offensively the way we want to play.
"We didn't get the three points, but that's the only thing we didn't get. We want to win every game but it's very difficult.
"We deserved to win and we will go again next week and everything will be fine."
