Cisse scored 96 Ligue 1 goals for Auxerre, Olympique Marseille and Bastia before originally retiring from football in 2015 to focus on a career as a Disc Jockey (DJ).
The 38-year-old has since made a brief comeback with Swiss third-tier side Yverdon, where he scored 24 times in 28 games in the 2017/2018 season.
The former France international, who also represented the likes of Sunderland, Queens Park Rangers, Panathinaikos and Lazio, is bent on making a return to score four more goals.
"At the start, it was almost a joke," Cisse told L'Equipe. "But little by little, it really became a wish.
"I have always said that passing the 100-goal mark was something very important to me. Being four goals away bothers me.
"If it doesn't happen, at least I would have tried and I could close the book of 100 goals. But until I try everything, I won't be at peace."
The 2005 UEFA Champions League winner added: "You have to see this as a bet, as an additional player in the workforce and not as an element that can play 90 minutes. Even I can't lie to myself to that extent, but I can still do service."
Cisse won 41 caps for the French national team, scoring nine goals and he won the Ligue 1 top scorer award twice during his time with Auxerre.
