Still only 20, Alexander-Arnold has come in leaps and bounds since breaking into the first team at the start of the 2017/2018 season.
Less than three years down the line, the England international has played in two UEFA Champions League finals and has also represented his country at the FIFA World Cup in Russia last year.
With Jurgen Klopp tightening his fist in the transfer market so far this summer, the onus will fall on the younger members of the Liverpool set-up to provide squad depth going into the new season.
Klopp has added youngsters Sepp van den Berg and Harvey Elliott to his side while academy graduates Ryan Brewster and Harry Wilson have played their part in pre-season in the absence of established regulars like Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
Liverpool get their season underway against Manchester City in the community shield at Wembley on Sunday, and ahead of the game, Alexander-Arnold is hoping to serve as an inspiration to the up-and-coming ones in the Liverpool squad.
"I think I understand that I have a responsibility for the young players," the England right-back told the club's official website.
"I try to make sure I am there for them and they know they can come and speak to me.
"Hopefully they know I have been in their situation and I know what they're going through – coming in and out of teams, being rotated, not getting the minutes you want, finding it too hard or intense, or struggling with fitness.
"I have been through it all. I hope they understand that I have, that I am always here for them, and that I am always available for them to come and talk."
