Werner has caught the eyes of several top clubs in Europe following his rapid progress in Germany, with clubs like Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea hoping to secure his services.
The 24-year-old has incredibly netted 27 goals and 12 assists in 36 appearances under coach Julian Nagelsmann in all competitions this season.
One of Werner’s best performances of the season was against Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie last month, where he tortured Jose Mourinho’s men and eventually scored from the penalty spot.
Ferdinand has hailed Werner as a ‘superb’ talent and admits he would be a great signing for the Red Devils.
“I watched him destroy Spurs in the Champions League, live, and I thought: ‘Wow, this kid has got something’,” the 41-year-old said live on Instagram.
“When I look at strikers I think, would I enjoy playing against him, would I find it easy, what ways would he make it difficult?”
‘What he’s been doing for his club, he’s been playing particularly well he is their goal threat.”
“If I’m Liverpool, I 100 percent take him because they haven’t got that back-up for the front-three at the moment.”
“If I was Werner I’d be thinking, I can make an impact, try and push my way in.”
“But there are other clubs… Chelsea I think are interested in him, he would be massive for Chelsea, an unbelievable signing for Chelsea.”
“I think United would go for him as well, I think he’d be great for Manchester United, definitely. Another one added to that great group of players that they’ve got up front.”
