The Catalan giants have failed to land a centre-forward this month and with Luis Suarez out for majority of the season due to a knee injury, there is a paucity of attacking options at the Camp Nou.
Following Barcelona’s 5-0 victory over Leganes in the Copa del Rey on Thursday night, Setien was asked about the Blaugrana’s contingency plan to replace the injured Suarez.
The 61-year-old admitted he is content with the players available and is excited about the possible return of Dembele.
"I'm calm as in a few weeks Dembele will return and it'll work out," the former Las Palmas and Real Betis manager said.
"He has very specific talents and we will try to get the most out of them.”
"He can give us a lot, regardless of which position he plays.”
"He feels more comfortable on the wings, but we will get him the ball and he can show us the potential he has.
"We hope that his performances will be consistent. I have confidence in the players I have.”
"There simply wasn't an option in the market that has appeared convenient."
Barcelona recuperated from their 2-0 defeat against Valencia in La Liga last week to beat Leganes comfortably.
Despite a convincing win against Los Pepineros, Setien insists he is not getting carried away just yet.
"I really like to analyse things carefully, I want to watch this match again to see if there was something specific which went well for us," he added.
"I don't get carried away by one result. Our setup will change a lot. We did think about playing with three centre-backs again for a period."
