Footballing World Reacts To NBA Legend Kobe Bryant’s Death

The footballing world have been paying tribute to basketball legend Kobe Bryant, who was killed in a helicopter crash on Sunday.

The 41-year-old former Los Angeles Lakers star and 13-year-old daughter Gianna along with seven others passed on after Bryant’s private helicopter came down and burst into flames in Calabasas, California.

Tributes have been pouring in from all angles and the footballing world have not been left out in expressing their condolences to one of the greatest sportsmen of all time.

Paris Saint Germain forward, Neymar, scored twice against Lille on Sunday and he celebrated his second goal by holding two fingers on one hand and four on another, signifying the number 24 jersey Bryant wore for the Los Angeles Lakers before retiring in 2016.

Five-time Ballon d’or winner Cristiano Ronaldo, scored Juventus’ consolation goal in a 2-1 defeat to Napoli on Sunday, and he tweeted after the game: "So sad to hear the heartbreaking news of the deaths of Kobe and his daughter Gianna."

"Kobe was a true legend and inspiration to so many. Sending my condolences to his family and friends and the families of all who lost their lives in the crash. RIP Legend."

Italian giants Inter Milan wrote: 'You were a constant inspiration to anyone who’s ever loved any sport. Losing you leaves an immense hole in our lives.

'You rose above the boundaries of countries, nations and sports. Your teachings will live with us forever. R.I.P. Kobe Bryant.'

Former Italy, AC Milan and Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo wrote: 'You've been an example for our generation. RIP Legend.'

Liverpool’s Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah tweeted: “My heartfelt condolences go out to the families and friends of Kobe and of those who died in the terrible accident.”

Bryant spent his entire 20-year basketball career with the Los Angeles Lakers and was a five-time NBA champion.
