Chelsea had lost four games out of their last five Premier League matches, and were facing aTottenham side who had just lost one out of their last five games.
Frank Lampard’s men defied the odds by beating Jose Mourinho’s men, thanks to Willian’s first-half double.
Mount insists he knew the rivalry between both teams since his days in the Chelsea academy set-up and revealed what Lampard told them before the game.
“I’ve known what it’s all about from a young age,” the 20-year-old told the club’s official website.
“‘Going away to Spurs’ training ground at seven or eight years old, it was always a massive game so all of us young boys and the experienced guys as well knew that it was the same today.”
