Rashford has scored three goals in United’s last two matches against Tottenham Hotspur and local rivals Manchester City.
Fred on the other hand has formed a solid partnership with team-mate Scott McTominay in the middle of the pitch, and has put in some good performances recently after initially struggling in his debut season last term.
Lingard insists Rashford’s form on the pitch is down to constant practice by the young Englishman in training.
"Rashford is flying, he is there to score goals, and he enjoys scoring goals,” the England international told Goal in an interview.
"Every day he is practising in training and it is working on the pitch. Practice makes perfect, and he is always staying behind and practising on his shooting.”
"I am not surprised. [He is] a proper Mancunian, he is born and bred here and he loves Manchester United."
The 26-year-old says Fred is a ‘real rock’ which can be relied upon by Manchester United as he has shown in their last two matches.
“In the last two games, he has been solid in midfield. He is a real rock. We can rely on him when we press high to back us.
"He has been doing really well at the moment. We just concentrate on our one job and that's to win the game."
Manchester United’s hopes of finishing in the top four has been rekindled following their first back-to- back Premier League wins since March.
The Red Devils will be seeking to extend their winning run to three when they face Everton on Sunday at Old Trafford.
