Chelsea were initially banned from signing players for two transfer windows, but after an appeal to Court of Arbitration for Sports, the transfer embargo was halved, meaning the West Londoners can do business in this upcoming winter transfer window.
The Blues are looking to secure top four spot and have been linked with top players like Nathan Ake, Ben Chilwell, Jadon Sancho and Crystal Palace’s talisman Wilfred Zaha.
Lampard has admitted he is looking to make a couple of signings to help solidify their current league position.
"We want the top caliber of player that can improve us," the 41-year-old said ahead of Chelsea’s league match against Bournemouth on Saturday.
"I won’t even hone in on those three. I have said it over the last couple of weeks. I am happy with the squad but we have to improve if we can.”
