Romario Rejects Ancelotti Appointment As New Brazil Manager

Brazil legend Romario says he is against the expected appointment of Carlo Ancelotti as the new manager of the Selecao.

Ancelotti's contract with Real Madrid expires at the end of this season and he has been earmarked by the Brazil football federation to head to the five-time world champions next summer.

In the meantime, Fluminense manager Fernando Diniz is combining his club commitments with that of the Brazil national team.

Ancelotti comes with a lot of experience, having won league titles in each of the big five European leagues and is also a record four-time winner of the UEFA Champions League.

"Actually, here's the thing, first I want to congratulate Ednaldo [Rodrigues], who is president of the CBF, he chose Diniz well. He's the best coach we've got," Romario told Brazilian outlet O Globo.

"He [Diniz] doesn't have time to do with the national team what he does at club level, which is his forte, training, getting these players together, he does what he can. He's drawn and lost the last two games, nobody always wins. But I can say that, in my opinion, in my humble opinion, the Brazilian national team is in great hands with Diniz. F*ck Ancelotti. I want him [Diniz] until the end."

Romario won the FIFA World Cup with Brazil in 1994 and scored 55 goals in 71 international appearances.
