I Joined Juventus Because It Is A Great Club, Says Ramsey

Former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has revealed why he joined Juventus as he thinks the greatness of the club was the main reason.

After failing to renew his contract with Arsenal, Ramsey signed a four-year pre-contract with the Old Lady in February.

The Welshman recorded 40 goals for the London-based club in 262 Premier League appearances.

During Ramsey's presentation as a player of the Serie A champions, the former Cardiff City man disclosed how he turned down other offers from top European clubs, choosing Juventus as the right destination for his career.

“I want to tell you that I am very happy to be here at Juventus.

"I'm working hard to be with the rest of the group as soon as possible.

“Why did I choose Juventus? When I heard they were interested in me, I thought it would be a dream, as well as a great challenge.

“There were other clubs interested but this is the right club for me and I'm very proud to be at Juventus.

“I'm happy to be here at Juventus, one of the greatest clubs in the world.

After winning their eighth consecutive Serie A title, Juventus parted ways with their manager Massimiliano Allegri, who they replaced with former Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri.

And Ramsey believes the former Napoli trainer's philosophy had a positive effect in his spell with Chelsea, having defeated Arsenal 4-1 in last season's Europa League final in Baku.

“He definitely has his own philosophy, and from what I saw last season, he had a great season, getting to two cup finals and winning one, while finishing third [in the Premier League]."
