'I Will Miss You All'- Hazard Announces Retirement From Football At Age 32

'I Will Miss You All'- Hazard Announces Retirement From Football At Age 32

Eden Hazard has announced his retirement from football at the age of 32.

One of the most gifted playmakers of his generation, Hazard's career went downhill after joining Real Madrid from Chelsea in the summer of 2019.

Hazard left Real Madrid this summer despite having one year remaining on his contract.

He made just 76 appearances and scored seven goals during his injury-plagued spell in the Spanish capital and played very little in two Spanish La Liga title triumphs and one Champions League glory.

However, it was at Chelsea where Hazard showed his mettle as a true great of the game.

In seven years at Stamford Bridge, Hazard won the Premier League twice, the FA Cup, League Cup and two Europa Leagues.

The former Lille forward scored 110 goals in 352 games for Chelsea.

For his national team, Hazard spent 14 years in the Belgium team, winning 126 caps and scoring 36 goals.

He played at three FIFA World Cups and two European Championships, helping his country to third place at Russia 2018.

"You must listen to yourself and stay stop at the right time," Hazard wrote on Instagram. "After 16 years and more than 700 matches played, I have decided to end my career as a professional footballer.

"I was able to realise my dream, I have played and had fun on many pitches around the world. During my career, I was lucky to meet great managers, coaches and team-mates - thank you to everyone for these great times, I will miss you all.

'I will miss you all. I also want to thank the clubs I have played for: LOSC, Chelsea and Real Madrid; and thank the RBFA for my Belgian Selection. A special thank you to my family, my friends, my advisors and the people who have been close to me in good times and bad.

"Finally, a huge thank you to you, my fans, who have followed me for all these years and for your encouragement everywhere I have played.

"Now is the time to enjoy my loved ones and have new experiences. See you off the field soon my friends."
