Spurs Sporting Director Paratici Handed Worldwide Ban By FIFA

Tottenham Hotpsurs sporting director Fabio Paratici has been handed a worldwide ban by the Federation of International Football Association(FIFA)

Back in January, Paratici was banned for 30 months by the Italian Football Federation as part of punishments handed to Juventus for financial misappropriation.

Paratici was previously managing director at Juventus before joining Spurs in the summer of 2021.

The ban was initially supposed to apply in Italy alone but FIFA has now decided to extend it worldwide.

That puts Paratici's role at Spurs in jeopardy at a time when the club are in search of a new manager after dispensing with the services of Antonio Conte last Sunday.

A widely reported FIFA statement read: "FIFA can confirm that following a request by the FIGC, the chairperson of the FIFA disciplinary committee has decided to extend the sanctions imposed by the FIGC on several football officials to have worldwide effect."

Juventus were docked 15 points in Serie A when the punishments were handed out in January, but like Paratici, they have denied any wrongdoing and intend to appeal.

The appeal will be heard by the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) on April 19.

In the meantime, Paratici will be unable to fulfill his duties at Tottenham Hotspurs.
