Pochettino Not Worried About Tottenham Sack

Mauricio Pochettino says he is not worried about being sacked by Tottenham Hotspurs after an abysmal start to the season.

The North Londoners suffered a shocking 3-0 defeat at the hands of Brighton Hove Albion on Saturday to compound a week that also saw them whitewashed 7-2 by Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.

Tottenham were also knocked out of the League Cup on penalties last month by League two side Colchester United.

They have won just three of their opening eleven matches in all competition this season.

Tottenham reached last season’s champions league final under Pochettino by not making a single signing in two transfer windows.

After a week that saw them concede 10 goals in two matches, questions are being asked and the Argentine has come under intense scrutiny from the media.

Speaking to the media following Tottenham’s toothless display against Brighton on Saturday, Mauricio Pochettino said: “Football is a game that sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. The problem for us – it was win, win, win and it was praise for everyone.

“Now in the last two games it was a tough situation to accept. But I don’t want to be a philosopher or talk in a way that is not good.”

"Football is [about being] strong and brave and taking decisions; and to show your face when things are not good," added the 47-year-old.

"That is what we are going to do, face the negative things and try to work hard to change this dynamic. In my position I need to accept all the criticism. The same when you praise me or the team.”

"I'm going to accept it in the same way and it's not going to change my vision, from you or the pundit because you're criticizing me or describing a situation differently to what you expect."

After the international break, Tottenham face Watford and Red Star Belgrade hoping to turn things around.
