Pogba Hits Out At Mourinho Over Management Style

Paul Pogba has criticised former Manchester United manager and current Tottenham Hotspurs boss Jose Mourinho over his management style.

Mourinho re-signed Pogba for the Red Devils in the summer of 2016 for a then-world record fee of £89m from Juventus but the pair’s relationship fell apart before the Portuguese manager was sacked in December 2018 and replaced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Pogba was not the only player whose relationship with Mourinho deteriorated in his final months at Old Trafford. The likes of Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial had their fair share of disagreements with the former Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real Madrid manager prior to his departure.

Pogba was stripped off the Manchester United vice-captaincy and left out of the team for Mourinho’s final game as United manager against Liverpool.

"What I have now with [current manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer] is different, he wouldn't go against the players," Pogba told Sky Sports. "He wouldn't go against the players.

"Maybe Ole wouldn't pick them, but it's not like he puts them on the side like they don't exist anymore.

"That's the difference between Mourinho and Ole.

"Once I had a great relationship with Mourinho, everybody saw that, and the next day you don't know what happened. That's the strange thing I had with Mourinho, and I cannot explain to you because even I don't know. So, yeah."
