Arsenal Legend Seaman Backs Arteta Amid Struggles At Emirates

Mikel Arteta is enduring a torrid time as Arsenal head coach but David Seaman has insisted he fully backs the Spaniard to stay at the Emirates Stadium.

Seaman admits Arsenal are on a poor run of form but has urged the board to bolster their squad by signing quality players in the January transfer window.

The North Londoners sit 15th on the Premier League table after a poor start to the 2020/2021 season.

Arteta’s men have not won a Premier League game since beating Manchester United 1-0 at home in November, a run of seven games without a win.

Several media outlets have tipped the 38-year-old to face the sack in the coming days.

In a recent interview with the media, Arsenal technical director Edu Gaspar has insisted that the club fully support Arteta.

Seaman, who is considered as Arsenal legend after playing over 400 league matches for the Gunners, has urged the club to stick with the Spanish tactician.

“I like how he speaks, and my friends give me great reports of what he does at the training ground,” Seaman said on Arteta as quoted by the Mirror.

“For me, he needs to stay and the club need to back him in getting the players he wants.”

“At the moment, there are a few players at Arsenal that maybe need to leave to create funds to get better players.”

Arsenal will hope to get back to winning ways when they face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup quarterfinal on Tuesday.
