Lewandowski Welcomes Coutinho’s Impending Arrival At Bayern Munich

Robert Lewandowski is delighted at the prospect of Philippe Coutinho joining the German champions and says the Brazilian will take to the Bundesliga like a duck to water.

Lewandowski has previously vented his frustrations at Bayern Munich’s lack of signings in the transfer window after losing valuable experience in the likes of Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben, Matts Hummels, James Rodriguez and Rafinha in the off-season.

Bayern have so far failed to augment their dwindling forward lines with approaches for Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi and Manchester City’s Leroy Sane not coming to fruition.

The German champions have however added Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic to their ranks earlier in the week.

Lewandowski’s wish for new signings might soon be appeased after both Barcelona and Bayern Munich confirmed a loan deal for Philippe Coutinho is in the pipeline.

Coutinho was left out of Barcelona’s opening La Liga game of the season; a 1-0 loss away to Athletic Bilbao at the San Mames Stadium on Friday.

Bayern Munich also had troubles of their own on Friday after being held to a 2-2 draw by Hertha Berlin on their own turf.

Speaking after the game, Lewandowski, who bagged a brace at the Allianz Arena, welcomed the prospect of Coutinho linking up at the German champions.

"I don't think he'll need that much time to adapt to our system and ideas," Lewandowski told reporters of Coutinho after Bayern's 2-2 draw at home to Hertha Berlin in the club's Bundesliga opener.

"I think he's the sort of player that can settle in without many problems."
