Emre Can Warns Sancho To ‘Grow Up’ After Haircut Fine

England forward Jadon Sancho has been told to ‘grow up’ by his Borussia Dortmund team-mate Emre Can after being fined by the German Football Association (DFB) for getting a haircut in his home, in breach of Germany's social distancing regulations.

Pictures of Sancho and his team-mate Manuel Akanji emerged online earlier this week, having a trim in their own respective homes with a celebrity barber named Winnie Nana Karikari.

Neither the players nor the barber were wearing any personal protective equipment (PPE) in the pictures.

Sancho took to his twitter account to condemn the DFB’s decision to fine him with a short tweet; "Absolute joke DFL!"

In an interview with Sky Germany, Can, who joined Dortmund on loan from Juventus in January, believes the Englishman needs guidance to make sage decisions off the pitch.

"Jadon needs a little guidance. He's a great boy, also off the pitch. It's true that I get along very well with him," the Liverpool man said after scoring the Black and Yellows’ winner in their Bundesliga game against Hertha Berlin on Saturday.

"He just has to be a little bit smarter about these things. Everyone needs a hairdresser. He needs to grow up. He can't afford to make mistakes like that in the future.”

"We as a team are also responsible. We are not annoyed by him. We know that he has to be more disciplined in some things. But he knows that too.”

"I don't think he does this on purpose to create a scandal. Maybe he doesn't realise it, maybe he trusts too many people in some things.”

"He needs people to guide him. That's where the environment is very important."

Sancho was also dropped and fined earlier this season by Dortmund after returning back late from international duty with England.
