Real Madrid Block Bale’s China Move

Real Madrid have reportedly blocked Gareth Bale’s impending move to the Chinese Super League.

The 30-year-old Welshman was on the brink of joining Jiangsu Suning in deal that would have reportedly earned him £1m a week.

Despite making a goalscoring appearance in Real Madrid’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal in the International Champions Cup last week, Zinedine Zidane insisted Bale’s days at the club were numbered.

However, after injuries to forwards, Marco Asensio, who is expected to miss the entirety of the upcoming campaign with a long-term knee injury, and new signing Luka Jovic, Real Madrid seems to have had a change of plans and are now intent on keeping Bale at the club.

Bale, who still has three years left on his Real Madrid contract, was also linked with Bayern Munich, Manchester United and former club Tottenham Hotspurs but his huge weekly wage of £600,000 has scared off potential suitors.

It has been a forgettable pre-season for Real Madrid so far after losing 3-1 to German champions Bayern Munich, drawing 2-2 with Arsenal and suffering an embarrassing 7-3 loss at the hands of city rivals Atletico Madrid on Friday.

The former Southampton youngster joined Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspurs in August 2013 for a then-world record fee of €100m, but after winning four Champions League trophies, one La Liga and scoring over 100 goals for the club, the Madridistas have still not taken to Bale.
