Conte Bids Spurs Farewell In Open Letter To Club

Conte has bid a fond farewell to the Tottenham Hotspurs fraternity following his dismissal as manager earlier this week.

Conte paid the price for a sensational rant at players and club officials following a 3-3 draw with bottom club Southampton just before the international break.

The 53-year-old took charge of Spurs in November 2021 as a replacement for Nuno Esperito Santo and helped them achieve a fourth place finish at the end of the season.

Despite sitting in fourth position on the league table, Tottenham have been knocked out of all cup competitions this season as their trophy drought stretches into a 15th season.

In a post on Instagram, Conte has thanked Spurs and wished them luck for the rest of the season.

"Football is passion," Conte said. "I would like to deeply thank everyone at Spurs who appreciated and shared my passion and my intense way of living football as a coach.

"A special thought to the fans who always showed me support and appreciation, it's been unforgettable to hear them singing my name.

"Our journey together has ended, I wish you all the best for the future."

Tottenham have placed Conte’s assistant Cristian Stellini in temporary charge until the end of the season. Ryan Mason will serve as his assistant.
